Free Download - Summary Handout & Worksheet for Visual Tool of Inside Out 2: POV Children of Immigrant Parents
🌟 Inside Out 2, but for Children of Immigrant Parents 🧡
I recently saw Inside Out 2 and it got me thinking what it might have been like to replicate the same story, but with Riley's emotions from the lens of a child (or adult child) of immigrant parents.
I have had an overwhelming response of how relatable this post had been on social media, with requests to create it as a visual for therapists as well as individuals themselves.
Here is a FREE downloadable pdf with a bonus worksheet I have created. I hope it aids as a Visual Tool for further conversations around the nuances of some common ways different emotions can present or even be manifested, for culturally diverse kids.
Who is this for:
If you’re from a culturally diverse background including adult child to immigrant parents looking for a visual tool based on Inside Out 2 new emotions to foster increased awareness, exploration of cultural nuances and emotional experiences and manifestations.
If you’re a therapist looking for a visual handout to work with children or adult children of immigrant parents, based on characters from Inside Out 2.
Reminders:
→ Even as Adult Children of immigrants, we can still learn to change our relationships with Emotions - despite how we were taught or our cultural upbringing.
→ All emotions have a need and function.
→ The worksheet and visual tool does not fully encapsulate all the complexities of all cultural elements for every child of every immigrant parent. It is suggested to be used only as a reflective tool, and for educational purposes to foster conversations around cultural identity and exploring narratives.
